Sharing With You, What's Working For Me
November 19, 2003
by Dr. Dave Kellenberger

Do you ever have those days in practice when you just feel overwhelmed and that you are all alone? Do you feel like you are continually trying to reinvent the wheel? That is how I felt when I purchased my office from Don Cole, DC in January of 2000. For the first dine since graduating, I had more responsibilities in the office than just seeing patients and keeping notes. I had to do those things, plus focus on my staff, bills, payroll, and all the other things that go along with running your own office. I had friends in different practice management groups, such as David Singer, The Waiting List Practice, The Family Practice, and The Masters Circle. All these groups had many things in common and the doctors involved all seemed genuinely excited about being chiropractors, but it was the things they had that were unique to their organizations that set them apart.

The Masters Circle had been around fur more than 20 years and had guided Doctors of Chiropractic who were serious about achieving success through procedure efficiency, clinical competency and superior business acumen. But what really attracted me to the group and what truly drives our office and helps me to show up every day as the best doctor I can be is the personal development side of their coaching.

How is it that two doctors can graduate from the same college, use the same exact techniques, educate in the same manner, but have two totally different outcomes? More simply put, why is the doctor down the street or across town so much busier than I am and why does he/she seem to practice with more purpose and passion than I do? The answer was simple and became apparent very fast, «Who you are determines how well what you do works.» It was not what I was doing or not doing, but more the intent behind the things I was doing.

Chiropractic Masters, Dr. Larry Markson, Dr. Bob Hoffman, and Dr. Dennis Perman lead a team of 14 consultants in playing an integral role in transforming practices. Through personal consulting, seminars, mastermind groups, and audio-visual tutorials, they immerse chiropractors worldwide with the knowledge they need to succeed in their Chiropractic practice and develop the lifestyle of their dreams.

Since joining The Masters Circle, my practice has grown by leaps and bounds. I surround myself with other members of the group who are some of our profession’s brightest Chiropractors. These doctors are truly the upper 80% of our profession. They have some of the biggest practices and are living the lifestyle of their dreams. It is awesome to go into practice every day with more excitement and purpose, knowing that I am making difference in all those lives that I come into contact with that day. The Masters Circle helps keep me focused and energized. The seminars are some of the best in our profession and they are continually keeping me abreast on new technologies, research, and ways to be more efficient in my office. My personal coach keeps me on track and pushes me to be the best me ever. He encourages me, but also lets me know when I am not living up to my potential. All great athletes, whether it is Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, or thy Titans football team, have coaches. Why should we be any different? If we want to excel in life and in our practices, we have to be willing to take it to the next level.

I encourage the doctors in our profession to become the best Doctors of Chiropractic they can be. To do that, it may take some guidance and coaching. Are you ready to Step Up? Do you want to have more fun and passion in your practice? I know I do.
