A Formula for Growth and Increased Abundance
May 24, 2004

Dear Doctor:

Every day at The Masters Circle, we get to see chiropractors break through to higher achievement, and every day, new chiropractors come into our sphere of influence, battered by the perceived harshness of the marketplace and in dire need of reconnection with their source of energy and power.< We hear amazing stories of courage and persistence, and we also coach doctors through the pain and frustration of underperforming and falling short of their ideals. In the final analysis, what is the difference that makes the difference? I’ve found no clearer explanation than the one expressed by Anthony Robbins, in his personal development classic “Awaken The Giant Within.” His formula for lasting change is a simple three step process, the consistent execution of which inevitably leads to more satisfaction, happiness and fulfillment. First, you must raise your standards. However you define “acceptable” at your current level of performance, it won’t suffice at the next level, at least not for long. Ask yourself, where do I need to hold myself to a higher standard? Second, you must change your limiting beliefs, the blinders that have prevented you from seeing a better path until this point. With higher standards, you’ll be motivated to grow yourself, and with a more expansive, less restrictive belief system about who you really are and what you’re really capable of, a new frontier of accomplishment will open up to you. Ask yourself, what beliefs are holding me back, and what new beliefs would support me in moving ahead? Finally, your must change your strategies. Once you’ve grown yourself at the “be” level by raising your standards and improving your beliefs and self image, you’ll have to develop methods at the “do” level to manifest your dream in reality, and that means proper goal setting, effective planning and massive action. Whatever actions you’ve taken thus far have gotten you to where you currently are – that should be a clue as to what additional effort must be invested. Ask yourself, what must I do to make it happen? What must I stop doing? Raise your standards, change your beliefs, change your strategies – it’s the shortest distance between you and what you really want.
