November 2004

Traditionally, November has fewer practice days than most months, between SuperConference and Thanksgiving, so adjust your plans accordingly. That doesn’t mean to expect less, it means to pick up the pace on the practice days you have and get your service done. If you know you have fewer days, then schedule your days more compactly and keep your rhythm quick. Bring your staff’s attention to this, too, so they keep it lively, and you’ll be able to stretch yourself and keep your volume up. Watch the office visits per day statistic — it will tell you if you brought your best game.

Also, if you are planning a Christmas promotion, you have to get the pieces in place now. Sometimes vendors slow down a bit before Christmas, because everyone is crushing to get their stuff done before the holiday, so handle your printing, gifts for patients and strategic alliances, and promotional planning early, so you don’t run the risk of being caught short or compromising the quality.

If you’re taking time off at Christmas, plan for office coverage now. If not, then gear up for a strong finish — between the stress of the holidays and people wanting to feel as good as possible, this can be a very busy season, so keep your focus — and make sure your staff does, too.
