You’re coming to the next major check point, the halfway mark on 2006 – are you on target? Halftime is a chance for self-examination and, if necessary, course correction. Are your energies properly balanced between personal growth and professional excellence? Is your lifestyle a reflection of what you expect of your patients? Do you need to raise your standards anywhere?

By asking tough questions like this, you can focus your attention where it will do you the most good. Are you following through on your marketing plans? Have you been consistent with your patient education? Have you trained your staff in key elements of office procedure that need refinement? Who is supposed to take responsibility for this stuff if not you?

You can finish the first half strong and launch the second half with great momentum – if you planned a health fair or talk, you can kick start the summer with a big influx of new lives to serve. If not, just pick up your in-office referral energy, and inspire your team to do the same.

Check and reset if necessary your second half goals. They should feel like a stretch without seeming unreasonable. Complete this half with great energy and get your team ready for a surge ahead in the second half.
