Dog days are in the mind – there are no bad seasons to practice. While many explain away their doldrums based on heat, hobby distractions and preparation for the school year, the statistical truth is that August is always one of the busiest months of the year – for offices that expect that. What are you expecting?

Many practice days, no holidays, good weather, an atmosphere of getting ready – these are excellent conditions for practice growth and development. Use the momentum of people’s leisure to guide them into wellness oriented lifestyle decisions – better exercise and nutrition are the obvious, but how about the psychology of wellness, the effect of optimism and joie de vivre on every day? How about the positive effect of making good health choices for themselves and their families? And how can you bring these ideas to focus for more of the people of your community?

What would it take for this to be your busiest summer yet? Asking for referrals twice more each day? Going into one local merchant each week and letting them know how much you appreciate their service or products? It’s a time of year when people are out and about, so get out into the marketplace and mix it up – there are people to serve everywhere you look.
