There are no dog days -- someone lazy and unmotivated made that up. August is
traditionally one of the two busiest months in chiropractic offices worldwide!
No big holidays, lots of practice days, no weather issues, people gearing up for
the school year -- it's a gold mine for those who look at it right.
Do something outdoors -- sponsor a softball or volleyball game for a local
charity, invite patients and friends to a picnic and do a little talk, or
finally commit to that walking club you've been promising to start. Summerhead,
fooey -- take action, and see how responsive your community will be!' And if
you're planning school related events for September, you have to start planning
them now -- screenings, talks at schools or PTAs, family days, career days,
require varying degrees of preparation. Set some goals, and make some plans you
can put into action in the coming weeks.
Also, you're deep into the calendar, so you can clearly see the trends for the
year -- if you're on target, then full speed ahead, but if not, you still have
ample time to make some adjustments and reset your course. Look at your
statistics -- they will guide you to the place where you need to invest energy.
Is it new patients? Patient education? Collections? You can only grow as great
as your weaker areas permit -- it's more than a seminar slogan, it's a neon
arrow pointing at the resolution of your issues. Listen to what your practice is
telling you, and do something about it, right now!
