Chiropractors Travel to Island of Tobago, BWI to Conduct Chiropractic Education and Adjustment Clinics for Residents of All Ages
November 1, 2006

JERICHO, N.Y./TOBAGO, British West Indies – November 1, 2006 – Twenty Chiropractors from the United States, Europe, Canada and Australia will travel to Tobago. British West Indies, February 26-March 2, 2007, to conduct six simultaneous clinics collectively serving 10,000 island residents of all ages.

Peter M. Lawrence, DC, CCSP, Consultant at The Masters Circle who participated on this mission in 2005, and was instrumental in the development and execution of the mission observes, “It was the experience of a lifetime being able to adjust thousands of people, giving them hope and health and removing despair and disease. I am truly looking forward to repeating this wonderful experience.”

The doctors will introduce Chiropractic and wellness initiatives to schools throughout Tobago, providing presentations and demonstrations as well as adjustments for the students.

“Seeing the trust in their deep chocolate brown eyes when they were being adjusted was priceless,” recalls Dr. Lawrence.

The Chiropractic team will also deliver bedside care for the severely disabled, participate in television and radio interviews, and provide adjustments as well as education to people attending Church services.

“The warmth, acceptance, and eagerness to get adjusted have been incredible,” he notes. “The people would start lining up hours before our arrival every morning. We adjusted a woman who was in a coma on Monday and by Friday she was sitting up alert and eating. This sort of occurrence was commonplace on this mission.”

The importance of this annual mission is underscored by the words of Bob Hoffman, D.C., president and one of the founding partners at The Masters Circle (TMC), the nation’s largest leadership coaching, practice building and personal development program for Doctors of Chiropractic.

“Chiropractors are among the most dedicated health and wellness professionals,” says Dr. Hoffman. “The Tobago mission is just one example of how our profession is committed to service. Everyone at The Masters Circle supports this initiative and we are proud of the accomplishments undertaken by Dr. Lawrence and his team. Kudos to all!”

Dr. Lawrence says that the Tobago mission was initiated in 2005 by The SugarWorld Foundation, Founder Hudson Robinson and was made possible with the help of The Southwest Tobago Rotary Club under the leadership of Howard Webbe. Both organizations helped to coordinate all of the on-land arrangements as well as putting the clinics in order, providing transportation, housing and accommodations for the doctors. They also provided volunteers to coordinate doctors through the process.

Many thanks go to Hon. Stanford Callender, Minister of Tobago Affairs, The Tobago House of Assembly and The Secretary of Health and Social Affairs for Tobago for facilitating the trip.
